This section of our FAQ answers your most common questions about digital tools like Omnivox, your schedule, available services, your academic progress, administrative procedures, language requirements, and the tech resources you'll need to succeed.
Steps to follow:
a) When an alert message is displayed when logging in to the system, follow the instructions. It is imperative to report to the appropriate department to update your administrative file.
b) Do I still have access to my mios?
You always have access to your mios no matter what blocks your other Omnivox modules.
c) I've lost my password.
Click on the "Forgot your password?" tab and follow the instructions on the screen. If the problem persists, contact your student coordinator.
d) I do not really understand how Omnivox works.
Do you know that a user guide exists for this purpose? You can find it on the Omnivox Support section.
You can find the session calendars in two places: on your Omnivox homepage (under the Events section) and in the Documents and Messages section, where you’ll find several PDF documents, each containing the full calendar for a specific session.
Schedules are typically made available two weeks before classes begin.

- The exam weeks are pre-determined and indicated in the Events section of your Omnivox homepage, as well as in the Documents and Messages section, where you’ll find the academic calendars for each session.
- Your personal exam schedule will be available in the Exam Schedule tab on Omnivox once it has been published. You will receive a notification on Omnivox when it goes live.
The first week of the semester is the deadline to re-register. However, we strongly advise you not to wait until the last minute in order to reserve your spot in the courses.
Schedules are available two weeks before classes start. Any request for modification(s) is only allowed during this period.
The deadline for dropping a course without failure notation is fixed for each semester by the Ministry. Refer to your semester calendar displayed on your Omnivox home page.
The date of reception varies depending on the program. However, count approximately 3 months after the end of your courses for the issuance of the document. You will receive a mio when it is ready.

You must submit your request to your program’s student coordinator (via MIO or in person). Refer to the “My Contacts” section above to find the appropriate person.

- The addition of courses is possible until the day before the start of the semester.
- Courses can be dropped up until the deadline to withdraw without a failure notation. You can find the exact date in the Events section on the Omnivox home page.
Schedules are available approximately 2 weeks before classes start.
A message on the Omnivox home page will be displayed to inform students.
- If you have failed less than half of your courses, please contact the student coordinator of your department (by mio or in person). They will be able to explain the impact on your progression and your options.
- If you have failed 50% or more of the courses (technical refusal case), please contact the student coordinator of your department (by mio or in person) in order to review your progress, explain the impact of your failures and sign a success contract for the continuation of your studies.
- If it is the first semester in the program, first contact the Admissions Department. They will be able to assist you and if needed, refer you to the student coordinator of your department.
- From semester 2 onwards, contact the student coordinator of your department (by mio or in person). The steps to follow and the impacts of this change will be explained to you at that time.
- You always have access to your progression chart via Omnivox, in the Progression Chart section. It is very important to consult it every semester to track your progress and to understand the prerequisite courses.
- If you have more specific questions, you can contact the student coordinator for your department.
Language courses are included in DEC programs as it is a ministerial requirement for graduation. They are particularly important in order to prepare for the Uniform French Exam or the English Exit Exam. Please note that failing the exam will prevent you from obtaining your DEC diploma. This is why it is important to follow and pass the sequence of language courses planned by the College, which is different for each student and depends on the result of your placement test.

- It is possible to request a grade review. You can complete the online form on Omnivox, in the Online Forms section. The request must be submitted no later than the day before the start of the next session.
- Fees apply. If the grade review is not accepted, you may request a refund.
- First, check with your teacher whether you can re-write the exam by providing valid medical proof of your absence.
- Upon the teacher’s recommendation, contact your program’s student coordinator (by mio only) with your supporting documents in order to obtain a retake authorization.
- In the case of general education courses already successfully completed in Quebec, these will be added automatically to your file.
- For any other course, it is possible to request an equivalency. You can complete the application form available on Omnivox (in the Documents & Messages section) and send the required administrative documents to secretaire@collegelasalle.com.
- We strongly advise you to start your process at least three months before the expiry date of your documents.
- You must apply for an official transcript and a detailed attestation letter directly on Omnivox in the "Documents request" section. - Afterwards, you will be able to proceed with your request with the appropriate government authorities.

Refer to the administrative technician of your department for all the steps and deadlines.
- Contact your department’s student coordinator (by mio or in person) in order to submit the required supporting documents. They will then update your file and make any applicable modification.
- Attention: For any request, only the original documents will be accepted.
For any cancellation, please contact your department’s student coordinator (by mio or in person) to discuss the terms and conditions and impacts of your decision.
- The first step is to notify your teachers of the situation to justify your absences. Note that a justification for absences does not remove these hours of absence from your file.
- During an extended absence period due to medical reasons, you must notify the student coordinator of your department who will indicate the steps to follow depending on the situation.
- Depending on the details of the information you need, two letters of attestation of registration can be issued:
1) Attestation Letter (simple format, $10) : This letter is mainly used as proof you are attending and registered in the current semester. You will find the form in the Omnivox Document Request section.
2) Attestation Letter (detailed format, $50): This letter is mainly used for study permit and CAQ applications. All the detailed administrative and academic information from the student's file is indicated there. You will find the form in the Omnivox ‘’Documents Request” section.
- Your official transcript, with the Registrar’s signature and stamped with the College seal, is available to request. You can find the form on Omnivox in the Document Request section.
- In the case of the report card or the Attestation of Collegial Studies, you can request a reprint by completing the online form in the "Documents request" section of your Omnivox home page. Reprinting fees will apply.
- For a request regarding a diploma issued by the Ministry, you must apply for a duplicate on their website. http://www.education.gouv.qc.ca/en/references/obtain-an-achievement-record-or-a-diploma/
You can change your personal details (address/email/phone) in Omnivox. New information will automatically be added to your administrative file.
You will first have to contact the student coordinator of your department to present your situation and share the reasons for your dissatisfaction. They will assist you with any specific issue.
For any financial questions related to your file, you can contact the following email address: ServicesFinEtudiants@collegelasalle.com or by MIO (Financial services for students). They will be able to assist you and redirect you to the right services, if necessary.

You can also meet with our financial advisors who are able to assist you throughout your loan application. They are also qualified to provide financial guidance during your studies.
Please note: For international students, financial aid is limited. Most bursaries are reserved for permanent residents or Canadian citizens studying full time. Consult the Financial assistance for international students page on the government of Québec website or meet one of our advisors.

Yes. The dates that payments must be received are in your contract.
If a special situation prevents you from making a payment, you may request a payment plan. You can make this request by sending us an email or by meeting us at our administrative offices, on the 2nd floor. Please allow 10 business days to receive a reply to your request.
Payment plans are reserved for special cases due to extraordinary situations. Therefore, students may use a payment plan only once while enrolled at the college. Please note that students may not use a payment plan during their first term.
You can pay online.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to make payments in person. No staff member will be able to process the transaction on campus.
Please also note that we no longer accept cheques or cash.
Bills are issued five days before the payment date on your contract. To pay by Omnivox, the bill needs to be issued in order to see the balance to be paid. However, you may pay online at any time here.
Depending on your chosen payment method, it takes two to ten business days for the payment to be applied to your account. If after ten days the problem is not resolved, please contact us through MIO - Student Financial Services.
Depending on your program, you may have to sign several contracts, which we call “re-enrollment.”
The fees cover only the academic terms shown on your contract. When you sign a new contract (re-enroll), you must pay your registration fees and related fees again.
Please note that tuition increases annually according to MEES guidelines; these increases are normally between 3% and 6% per year.
The first payments are higher because they include fees that relate to the entire term of the contract.
This is an optional, tax-deductible contribution. Since these fees are in the contract, you must let us know if you do not want to contribute. You must submit a request via MIO - Student Financial Services before the due date. All other fees must be paid before this date. Please allow five business days for the adjustment to appear on your statement.

Canadian and international students are required to be insured.

Your insurance card will be emailed to you (at your personal address). Don’t forget to check your email inbox. If there is any problem, contact us through MIO - Student Financial Services. Please allow five business days for processing.
If you start your studies in the fall term, your coverage will start in mid-August and last for one year. If you start your studies in the winter term, your coverage will start in mid-January and last for one year.
Yes. You must send us proof of insurance by email before the due date shown on your contract; otherwise, you will be automatically covered by the insurance offered by LaSalle College and you must pay the costs. Please note that your private insurance must have equivalent coverage in order to be approved.
If you are registered for a foreign student health insurance plan through a social security agreement, it is not required. However, please note that many costs, such as medication, are not covered by RAMQ.
To withdraw from a term (canceling the educational services contract), you must communicate this in writing to your student coordinator or your admissions counselor to let him or her know that you wish to withdraw and the reason for your withdrawal. This date will be considered the official date of your withdrawal request.
According to the Ministère de l'Éducation rules, LaSalle College must charge a departure fee and penalties when one terminates or cancels one’s educational services contract. This applies to all departures or withdrawals that take place before the end of the first term indicated on the contract.
The typical processing time for a departure/withdrawal request is ten business days, except at the start of a term, due to a higher volume of requests. If you are due a reimbursement, please allow additional time for reimbursement.
Act 14 is An Act respecting French, the official and common language of Québec. It is the result of Bill 96, which was passed in May 2022.
This act makes changes to the Charter of the French Language (better known as Bill 101) as well as several other acts, such as the General and Vocational Colleges Act.
Since the earliest roots of this bill, LaSalle College has worked closely with the Québec government, along with the English CEGEPs and colleges in the Montréal area, to reduce the impact of Bill 96 on our current and future students.
At the college level, any student who is eligible to study in Québec can study in an English AEC or DEC program.
However, English colleges and CEGEPs have been limited in the number of spots they can offer and must give priority to students with a certificate of eligibility to receive instruction in English (COE) as of the winter 2024 semester.
Bill 96 introduces new French requirements for students enrolled in an English-language Diploma of College Studies (DCS) program.

Note: Students who began a college program in English before June 30, 2023, and continue in the same program are not required to take the EUF. However, the graduation requirements outlined above apply to students who switch programs on or after July 1, 2023.

To help you succeed and support your integration, approximately 6 hours of French support courses per week have been added to your schedule at no extra cost. These courses are not mandatory but are strongly recommended.
If your placement test results show a sufficient level of French, you may be exempt from some of these French courses.

A student without a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) who begins an AEC program in English is required to demonstrate sufficient knowledge of French, as defined by the regulations of the Ministère de la Langue française, in order to graduate.
More specifically, the student must demonstrate proficiency in both spoken and written French. This evaluation must be done through one of the following standardized tests: DELF, TEFAQ, TEF, or TEF Canada. The results must then be submitted to the College.
To meet graduation requirements, the test must confirm the following minimum levels, as defined by the Échelle québécoise des niveaux de compétence en français.

Students who hold a COE are exempt from this requirement.
This document allows a student to receive instruction in English.
There are several factors that determine who is eligible to receive a certificate of eligibility to receive instruction in English (COE). Among other things, a student may obtain a certificate if he or she, or a member of his or her immediate family, received most of his or her elementary or secondary education in English in Canada.
International students are not normally eligible, but there are exceptions.

If you are eligible, the ministère de l’Éducation will provide your COE to LaSalle College and it will automatically appear in your student file.
Note that only preschool, elementary or secondary students who are eligible for English-language instruction and who do not have a certificate of eligibility for English-language instruction, for example a student who studied in French at the elementary and secondary levels, must take steps before completing Secondary V. For others, the declaration of eligibility automatically appears in the student's file.

International students may study in an English-language AEC or DEC program.
The graduation requirements mentioned above for students who do not hold a COE apply.
For future students in an anglophone DEC program, additional French courses will be offered (about 6 hours per week). These courses will be included in their schedule at no additional cost.
Additionally, international students will benefit from immersion in French and Quebecois culture on weekday mornings (from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM) during their first summer in Montreal.*
*Students will be free on weekday afternoons and weekends. If they wish, as students of LaSalle College, they can take advantage of our Career Services to find summer jobs and internships.
For future students in an anglophone AEC program, they will be offered 7.5 hours of French courses per week, included in their schedule at no additional cost.
We are currently working on a French language immersion program: Integration Program to Quebec: Culture and French Language, to help our international students learn French more easily.
This program will be offered shortly.
As of February 19, 2025, the number of CAQs that all post-secondary institutions can issue is limited under the current government decree. Although we have reserved a certain number of CAQs to allow students who wish to continue their studies to do so, it is possible that we may not be able to issue additional CAQs in some cases if the number of extension requests exceeds expectations.
Successfully completing your program—including language tests—is therefore essential. We strongly encourage you to make full use of the resources available to you and to complete your program within the scheduled timeframe, in order to avoid any interruption to your studies due to these new restrictions, which are beyond our control.
If you wish to extend your studies beyond the initially planned period, please note that a new CAQ application may be required.

Language courses are an integral part of the DCS program and are required to graduate. They also prepare you for the following mandatory provincial exit exams:
Students who do not pass the required exam cannot receive their diploma. It is essential to follow the learning path assigned based on your placement results.
Yes! To simplify our students’ interactions in their daily college activities, any LaSalle College student can request a chosen name.
This name will be prioritized in all College communications and interactions as well as in unofficial documents, while the legal first name will be used in official documents and government procedures.

Yes, if the gender designation requested is the same as the gender designation indicated in the student’s official documents, such as a birth certificate or vital statistics document.
As is the case in any government document, the student can choose from the following three genders: “Male,” “Female” and “Non-binary.”

The student card is MANDATORY (does not apply to students of the Online learning) and you must have it with you at all times.
The card will be required for:
- Entering the College
- Accessing the Documentation Centre
- Attending final exams
- Using the printing stations;
- Participating in sports or socio-cultural activities
Please note that having your student ID card ready before the first day of classes is very important! Without your student ID card, you will not be able to enter the College and attend your classes.
As soon as your registration is completed, there are two ways to get your photo taken for your student card:
1. Upload your photo on Omnivox
You can submit your photo online via Omnivox and then pick up your printed student card at the designated kiosk during the back-to-school week. To learn how to submit your photo on Omnivox, click here.
2. Take your photo on campus
You can take your photo at our dedicated student ID card kiosk during the back-to-school week.
You must go to the reception of the Documentation Center located on the 4th floor of the College.
When you're a full-time student, you have access to the reduced fare on the purchase of the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) OPUS card.

As a future AEC student, you will be enrolled in 7.5 hours of French courses per week, included in your schedule at no additional cost. These courses are mandatory and are designed to support your success in learning French.
Both tests are mandatory unless you qualify for an exemption.
A language placement test will take place during the first week of the semester. The purpose of this test is to assess your French proficiency in order to place you in the appropriate level and support your academic success.
Alternatively, you may submit results from a standardized French test recognized by LaSalle College. If your results meet the minimum proficiency level required by the Ministère de l’Éducation, you may be exempt from taking French courses.
Proof of your test result must be submitted either to your admissions advisor before starting your program or to your student coordinator during your studies.
