Loans & Bursaries from the Government of Québec

The Government of Québec offers a financial aid program for college students. Whether you are studying full-time or part-time, you may be eligible for a loan and/or a bursary to help finance your studies.
Loans and Bursaries for Full-Time Studies
Estimate My Financial Aid Amount- Are You Eligible?
You may be eligible if you:
- Are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee;
- Reside in Québec;
- Are enrolled in a recognized institution and program (all programs at LaSalle College are eligible);
- Study full-time;
- Respect your eligibility period and debt limit.
- How to Apply?
You will need:
- Your permanent code;
- Your Social Insurance Number;
- Your institution's code (Montréal campus: 749548, Laval campus: 749648);
- Your program code (without the dot);
- Your income or an estimate of your annual income;
- Additional information if required.
Your parent or spouse will also need to provide some information.
- Deadlines
Applications for full-time studies open in May for the following academic year (September 1 to August 31). To avoid delays, apply in advance.
You have up to 30 days after your last month of studies to submit your application.
Loans for Part-Time Studies
Estimate My Financial Aid Amount- Are You Eligible?
You may be eligible if you:
- Are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee;
- Reside in Québec;
- Are enrolled in a recognized institution and program (all programs at LaSalle College are eligible);
- Study part-time (between 76 and 179 hours);
- Respect the eligibility limit (14 study periods) and the debt limit ($8,000);
- Meet the eligibility threshold.
- How to Apply?
You will need:
- Your permanent code (4 letters and 8 numbers);
- Your Social Insurance Number;
- Your institution's code (Montréal campus: 749548, Laval campus: 749648);
- Your program code (without the dot);
- Your previous year’s income and an estimate of your current year’s income;
- Additional information if required.
- Deadlines
Applications for part-time studies open in June for the following academic year (September 1 to August 31). To avoid delays, apply in advance.
