  • Rigorous Governance and Exemplary Compliance

    Contrary to some impressions, LaSalle College is fully subject to the accountability obligations set forth by the Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur.

    As such, the College:

    • produces audited financial statements every year;
    • submits the required annual reports;
    • strictly adheres to the list of programs authorized by the Ministry;
    • maintains dialogue with the Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur either independently or through the Association des collèges privés du Québec (ACPQ).

    All mechanisms are in place—both on our side and the Ministry’s—to ensure that we meet these obligations and remain available to engage in discussions with the Ministry to promote a clear and transparent understanding of our corporate structure.

    LaSalle College has two recognized unions:

    • FNEEQ–CSN, representing nearly 400 teachers and lecturers;
    • SEPB–FTQ, representing about 40 support staff members.
  • Annual Financial Report

    The audited financial report, prepared by Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton, is submitted no later than November 1st of each year to both the Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur and the Ministère de l’Éducation, in accordance with the requirements outlined in the Private Education Act.

  • Data Transmission – Étape System

    All information related to human, material, and financial resources is submitted through the Étape system, as required by the Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur. Although a labor-intensive process, it is essential to allow the Ministry to assess the institution’s compliance and determine whether to issue or modify a permit. The College has systematically participated in this exercise over the past five years.

    When an element is deemed non-compliant or requires clarification, the Ministry submits a follow-up request. We ensure that the necessary adjustments are made and resubmitted.

  • Accountability – CollectInfo System

    For certain components, accountability is carried out through the Collecto platform.

    To date, we have not received any notice indicating that the information submitted was incomplete or non-compliant.

  • Administrative Audits

    Administrative audits are conducted annually.

    Whereas two audits were previously conducted each year, their frequency has been reduced to one in the past two years, a situation attributed to a lack of resources within the Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur.

  • Commission d’évaluation de l’enseignement collégial

    In December 2023, the Commission submitted its report evaluating the effectiveness of LaSalle College’s quality assurance system. This report is part of a cyclical process conducted by the Commission across institutions in Quebec’s college network. A committee, chaired by a commissioner, analyzed the self-assessment report submitted by the College and carried out an audit visit from November 9 to 11, 2021.

    During this visit, the committee met with various stakeholders, including the institution's management, the self-assessment committee, the internal governance committee, the board of directors, the team leaders’ committee (professors), the academic affairs division, as well as professionals, support staff, students, and the academic commission.

    Following its evaluation, the Commission concluded that LaSalle College’s quality assurance system and its management ensure continuous improvement of quality, maintained at the highest available standard, earning a score of 4/4.
