Is it finally time to choose your college program? Are you wondering about the many options available to you?
The fields of early childhood education and special education offer outstanding job prospects. In response to a workforce shortage that has persisted for several years, the Québec government introduced a program designed to encourage students to choose these essential careers and successfully complete their studies.
You are still hesitating between these two programs that have the development and the well-being of others at heart?
Academos has created a fun little quiz (in French only) that might help you discover which program suits you best!
The Early Childhood Education program is designed for you if you are a person full of energy and creativity, if you are pedagogue and patient, and if you love kids.
Whether it is in a CPE, in a daycare, or in a school childcare facility, you’ll be able to work with children from 0 to 12 years of age and will be able to meet their physical, emotional and psychological needs.
At the end of your training, you will obtain a certification that conforms with Ministry of Family standards.
In addition, you’ll have everything you need to open your own center or a daycare in your home, if that is what you wish!
Here are a few of the courses in your program:
P.S. You'll have the opportunity to hone you skills in our Observation room or at the LaSalle des Petits daycare, as soon as your first year.
You will also have access to the department’s game library where you can borrow toys and games.
The Special Care Counselling program is meant for you if you are known for being empathetic, affectionate towards others and attentive to others’ needs.
You’ll receive training focused on helping relationships, as well as the support individuals and groups of all ages need to face behavior, development or school adaptation challenges.
This program trains people to appropriately work with a range of clients facing difficulties in adaptation, education, and rehabilitation, whether it is in learning and rehabilitation centers, schools, youth homes, community organizations, teaching hospitals, detox centers, and many others.
Along the way, here are some of the concepts you will study:
