As tradition goes, our second-year Fashion Marketing students will once again have the opportunity to transform the display windows of Alexis Nihon shopping center into true works of art. Thanks to this renewed partnership, they will have to combine creativity, design skills, and critical thinking on contemporary issues while developing essential competencies for their future careers.

A New Edition Announced Under the Theme of Reinvention!

In 2025, we aim to push the boundaries of creativity even further by showcasing local expertise and Montreal’s vibrant art scene. Our ambition is to reinvent the traditional use of commercial display windows by infusing them with modernity and innovation.

To encourage excellence and diversity of talent, we are opening the competition to multiple disciplines, including fashion, arts, design, VFX, and video games. The project has just been launched, and the displays will be exhibited from May to July 2025.

This year's theme, "Reinvented Display", challenges students to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary by integrating three mandatory objects sourced from Sports Experts, DeSerres, and Canadian Tire. They will need to showcase originality and creativity to merge these different worlds and create a unique visual experience.

From Concept to Display: Behind the Scenes of the Latest Edition

This fall, pedestrians along Sainte-Catherine Street had the chance to admire the talent and creativity of our first-year Fashion Marketing students. Under the guidance of their instructors, Raina Gillis and Natacha Tremblay, these future professionals skillfully designed four window displays at Alexis Nihon shopping center under the theme "Those Around Us."

Each team brought a unique interpretation of this theme. Working within a $1,000 budget and prioritizing eco-friendly materials, the students showcased impressive ingenuity and a strong sense of design.

The four displays featured distinct and captivating visions:

The societal artwork

Reflections of the World Around Us

Invasive innovation

Alongside this exhibition, a public contest invited the community to vote for their favorite display. The winning project, Societal Art Piece, by Christophe Ménard and Laurence-Rose Sareault, was awarded a $1,000 scholarship sponsored by our partner, Desjardins.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in this journey—from the students and instructors to our partner Desjardins and the Alexis Nihon shopping center.
