A Warm and Welcoming Start to the School Year at LaSalle College
The beginning of the school year is always a pivotal time, often filled with excitement but also some stress, especially for new and international students. Aware of these challenges, we made every effort to ensure that this day was as smooth as possible for our students.
From the moment they arrived, students were welcomed into a festive atmosphere, with beautiful decorations at the College entrance and on the mezzanine, creating a friendly and inspiring setting. A central Student Affairs Service booth was available to answer all questions, providing personalized support right from day one.
Activities and information booths
Fun activities and thoughtful gestures brightened up the day, bringing a touch of lightness and enjoyment:
- Gourmet cupcakes to celebrate our 65th anniversary;
- Fresh fruit for a sweet snack break;
- Unique goodies such as personalized lip balms and bag hooks, perfect for taking home a useful souvenir.
In addition to these treats, information sessions on academic life and student life were offered, and several information booths were set up to help our students with their various needs: Telus, Service Canada, Desjardins, L'Hirondelle, an immigration officer, Chelsea House (housing), and more.
To extend this experience, we offered a free bus tour of Montréal the following Sunday, a moment particularly appreciated by international students eager to discover their new host city.
