Midis Industrie: When Industry Meets Our Students

This year, the College launched an innovative and inspiring initiative for its students: the Midis Industrie, organized by our Career Services.

This year, LaSalle College launched an innovative and inspiring initiative for its students: Midis Industrie, organized by our Career Services. These events offer our students the exclusive opportunity to meet renowned professionals and discover the job market from a new perspective.

In addition to providing a glimpse into life after graduation, these meetings often offer concrete job and internship opportunities for our students.


Diverse and Captivating Guests

This year, we had the pleasure of hosting several public figures and experts from various fields:

  • Dina Merulla (a College's alumni) and Thalia St-Louis: Télio, trends, social media, and sustainable development.
  • Elisabeth Lepage: What is a Creative Director?
  • Mariana Mazza: Documentary “Le prix de la mode,” by Télé-Québec.
  • Rosalie Bonenfant and Lolitta Dandoy: Screening of the show “Tout le monde s'habille.”
  • Saidatou Dicko, Director of the École Supérieure de mode: Presentation of the programs at the École Supérieure de mode of ESG, UQAM.
  • Olivier Poulin (a College's alumni), owner and founder of Red Raven: Workshop on leather accessories.
  • Larian Studios (Video Game Studio): Presentation of their projects, their game that won the Game of the Year award, and their job opportunities.
  • Dytomic (Video Game Studio): Presentation of the studio, their projects, and their internship opportunities in video games.
  • Nicole Boyer: Presentation of the Fashion Takes Action conference (sustainable development, circular economy, etc.).
  • Mikael Derderian (a College's alumni): High-end evening dresses and haute couture.
  • Thinkwell Studio: Presentation of the studio, their projects, and their internship opportunities in video games, management, finance, and interior design.
  • Globe Electric: Presentation of their opportunities in AI, IT, finance, management, operations, and marketing.
  • Rennai: The new beauty concept at RoyalMount and presentation of their job opportunities.
  • Ozex. Smart, Inomondial Inc., and Tailed: Presentation of their job opportunities in IT and programming with speed jobbing.
  • Paultech Inc: Presentation of their job opportunities in AI and IT.
  • ABB: Presentation of their job opportunities in AI, IT, finance, management, and operations.


"Women Tech Talk" Event

In addition to this long list of events, the College also had the honor of hosting exceptional women as part of Midis Industrie. The "Women Tech Talk" by DigiWomen highlighted the careers of several remarkable women in the technology field.

During this workshop, about twenty female students had the privilege of discovering the inspiring journeys of these professionals and exchanging ideas with them on various topics such as artificial intelligence, UX design, and cybersecurity. This event emphasized the importance of diversity and inclusion in the tech sector while providing our female students with inspiring role models.

The Future of Midis Industrie

We are proud to renew the initiative next year and continue offering our students enriching and formative experiences. We have already planned to host several renowned companies in Quebec, which have many opportunities to offer our students, including Randstad, ABB, Radio-Canada, Deloitte, etc.
