Vitaminart presents Processing the Process, an interactive multimedia event that documents, describes and examines different processes: societal, philosophical, and creative.
Through cinematography, graphic design, literature and photography, the Arts, Literature and Communication - Medias students use media as a means of showcasing processes on both micro and macro levels.
The event includes:
- Erik Wawin’s Oil the Gears, a zine that aims a critical lens at Neo-Luddism, showcasing the history of technology, along with its benefits and enemies.
- Bochra Rouag uses photography to document the process of art therapy in her series Creative Healing.
- Nikko Calaycay presents his trans experience and the process of finding his true self in his documentary Born to Transform.
- Lola Gomez-Ribeiro uses documentary film to capture the history of thrift stores and to contrast three thrifting experiences in Grand Thrift.
- In the short film Lonely Walker, Yuan Yao captures his individual experience with loneliness in a world where loneliness is an increasingly prevalent issue.
- David Tello Benites highlights the process of truth-seeking through a thriller about a young girl that has been incarcerated and must contend with a strange supernatural force.
- To get even more meta, Simon Reeves documents the process of Processing the Process using documentary-style filmmaking with a comedic effect.
Throughout the event, the audience will be able to interact with the projects by answering questions correctly to be entered into a contest to win prizes.
BONUS: students will be screening photos in the large windows of the College cafeteria. See it from the inside and the outside!
