Laila Lescot Wins the Pierre Cardin Prize – Canada 2025

LaSalle College is proud to announce that Laila Lescot, a fashion design student, has been crowned the national winner of the Pierre Cardin Young Designers Award – Canada.

Organized by the Maison Pierre Cardin since 2022, the Pierre Cardin Young Designers Award is an international competition for fashion design students, aimed at identifying and propelling emerging talent who will shape the future of the industry.

An international distinction that celebrates innovation and the next generation

Through its manifesto, the competition reaffirms Pierre Cardin's desire to involve the younger generation in the creative process and to create a bridge between heritage and innovation, encouraging the designers of tomorrow to express their vision.

The Canadian edition is part of this approach: the competition is held in several editions internationally, and Montreal hosts the Canadian edition with a one-day workshop and an awards ceremony.

A strong finalist course: 6 students in the final

This year, six finalist students distinguished themselves by the quality of their creative approach and the strength of their proposal:

  • Juan Su

  • Konstantina Markantonaki

  • Laila Lescot

  • Jack Ming Cheong Ng

  • Benjamin Veselic

  • Rita Huang

LaSalle College would like to warmly congratulate all the finalists for their boldness, rigor and commitment throughout the process.

Key support: thank you to our teacher-mentors

This success was also made possible thanks to the attentive and generous support of Milan Tanedjikov and Céline Chicoine, teachers at LaSalle College, who mentored the winner in preparing her participation and refining her approach.

Their expertise and mentoring testify, once again, to the importance of mentorship in the progression of young creators — and to the strength of our educational ecosystem, anchored in the reality of the field.

A source of pride for LaSalle College and for the next generation of fashion designers

With this distinction, Laila Lescot is part of an international dynamic that highlights the new faces of creation. This victory illustrates LaSalle College's mission: to offer a stimulating training environment, connected to the industry, where talents can develop a strong creative signature and project themselves on the world stage.

Bravo, Laila! The entire LaSalle College community celebrates this recognition and wishes him a future that lives up to his ambition.
