A Global Event, A Committed Local Community
The Space Apps Challenge is a worldwide gathering where thousands of participants, spread across more than 160 cities, simultaneously tackle challenges proposed by NASA and its partner agencies. In Montréal, the event brought together students, professionals, and curious minds from all walks of life, united by a shared passion: using open data to imagine solutions to the major issues of our time, both on Earth and in space.
Collaboration and Multidisciplinary
Guided by a team of coaches with diverse expertise, participants formed teams to take on challenges ranging from space exploration to environmental sustainability. While technical skills such as programming were an asset, the focus was above all on creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.
On-site participants benefited from expert advice and an environment conducive to exchange.
Academic and Institutional Partners
Beyond the academic appeal that NASA Space Apps represents for our students, this event also allowed them to collaborate with several renowned local institutions, including Vanier College, Université de Montréal, McGill University, Check Point, and ÉEDS Canada.
Events like TechWeek and this Hackathon are both golden opportunities for our students to network and take their first steps into their niche within the local industry. We are therefore proud to be able to offer them such prestigious collaborations.
