On May 14, the Pavillon du Grand Quai du Port de Montréal was transformed into a true incubator of creativity for Fusion, the multidisciplinary exhibition organized as part of the LaSalle College Festival.

Featuring final projects by students in Graphic Design, Interior Design, Video Editing, and Video Game Design, the event brought together curious visitors, industry professionals, families, and friends to celebrate the raw talent of our graduating students.

An Artistic Vernissage

During the first half of the evening, the event took the form of an art gallery vernissage, where students had the opportunity to present their projects and engage in conversation with attendees.

The works on display were original, thought-provoking, and at times deeply moving—such as On the Frontline: Voices of Change, a powerful documentary by Victoria Blanca that amplifies the voices of women facing the rise of conservatism around the world. A personal and political project, it was carried out with sensitivity and thorough research.

“I feel extremely grateful to have been given this platform to showcase my docu-video I worked so hard on and hold very close to my heart. I am also extremely privileged to have presented it alongside the works of my talented classmates, who also showcased their passion into their projects.” – Victoria Blanca

An Immersive Experience

Starting at 7 p.m., Fusion shifted into a whole new dimension: the exhibition space transformed into a full-blown creative nightclub. DJ Frigid lit up the room as interactive installations came to life before a fascinated audience.

Among the standout projects was one by Abdulrahman R. Mousa—an audacious, audio-reactive experience inspired by a viral internet meme, entirely programmed in TouchDesigner.

“Huge thanks to the Dean of Computer Science, Dr. Elisa Schaeffer, for being an awesome mentor and to LaSalle College for hosting such a crazy cool event with even crazier DJs and VJs. Grateful to everyone who made it happen!” – Abdulrahman R. Mousa

A Reach Beyond Our Walls

And that's not all: several projects showcased at Fusion will also be exhibited at the internationally renowned MUTEK festival, taking place in Montreal from August 20 to 22, 2025.

MUTEK is globally recognized for its cutting-edge programming in live electronic music and real-time audiovisual performance. It is one of the rare festivals in North America dedicated to showcasing this kind of artistic innovation. Even after more than 20 years, MUTEK remains focused on the future, committed to pushing the boundaries of contemporary digital creativity.

For our students, it’s a unique opportunity to present their work alongside professional artists on an international stage. A remarkable showcase for emerging talent that deserves to be seen, heard—and felt.

A Defining Moment for Our Students

Beyond the exhibition itself, Fusion was a moment of recognition and pride for our graduates, who had the chance to present their projects to a broad audience. Between inspiring conversations, technological discoveries, and shared emotions, the event highlighted the skill, dedication, and passion of the next generation of creatives.

Congratulations to everyone involved in making this event a success—and most of all, to our students for their vision, courage, and commitment. This is just the beginning, and we can’t wait to see what comes next in your artistic and professional journeys.
