The much-anticipated yearly event this November, the Soirée Mode Collège LaSalle (SMCL), once again made a lasting impression. Since 2013, this event has been a pivotal milestone for second-year Fashion Marketing students. SMCL provides them with the opportunity to showcase the skills they have developed throughout their studies by organizing a high-quality fashion show.
A Collective Effort for an Unforgettable Experience
Supported by their teachers and generous partners, the students worked tirelessly to bring this event to life. Their dedication and creativity allowed each group to present a unique and inspiring vision of fashion, contributing to the resounding success of SMCL 2024.

An 11th Edition Defined by 3 Themes
For this 11th edition, the show was brilliantly orchestrated by three groups of students, each exploring a distinct theme:
Dissidence
Opening the show, this theme dive into how fleeting trends and societal pressures influence our fashion choices. By deconstructing or reimagining iconic contemporary pieces, the students demonstrated how personal style often reflects imposed norms rather than authentic identities.

Jack in the Box
This theme presented unexpected looks by combining classic pieces, like suits or evening gowns, with exaggerated accessories, vibrant colors, or unconventional textures. The students played with the element of surprise, emphasizing the spontaneity and uniqueness that fashion can express. Jack in the Box brought to life the idea that our appearance can be playful, unpredictable, and authentic while challenging expectations.

Untamed
This theme showcased creations that broke traditional fashion norms to highlight individuality. Featuring bold silhouettes, eclectic patterns, and diverse materials, the designs illustrated the freedom of expression. Untamed encouraged the audience to reject rigid fashion conventions and celebrate the differences that make each person unique. This section demonstrated how fashion can be a true outlet for asserting one’s singularity.
