We sent our Communications and Content Coordinator and Fashion Marketing alumnus to the renowned Paris Fashion Week for a second consecutive year and she shares her adventure with you!

Bianca Simard, a Fashion Marketing graduate of LaSalle College in the class of 2017-2020, currently holds the position of Student Communications and Content Coordinator at the institution. In a short space of time, she has managed to stand out and carve out her own path in the fashion industry. From fashion articles to web content creation, she was able to attend the prestigious Paris Fashion Week for a second time.

PARIS FASHION WEEK AT A GLANCE

Exclusive visit to the Institut Français de la Mode: Interested in both fashion and education, Bianca had the opportunity to explore the Institut Français de la Mode during a private visit. During this enriching experience, she had the opportunity to meet students and teachers just as passionate as herself, discussing their preparations for Fashion Week.

Cruèl fashion show: At the last minute, Bianca received a late invitation to the fashion show of emerging designer Cruèl, where attendees were required to don either a 100% white or 100% black outfit.

For the occasion, Bianca wore a shirt made by our Fashion Design graduate Laima Vinton.

« At Paris Fashion Week, I was on cloud nine: Dream after dream turned into a reality! »

Dior fashion show: At the Dior fashion show, Bianca had the opportunity to be at the front of the red carpet. She noticed several renowned celebrities, including Anna Wintour, Chiara Ferragni, Caroline Daur, Jenna Ortega, Anya Taylor-Joy, and many others.

At the show, Bianca wore a LaColline ensemble designed by our Fashion Design alumni Camille Lamontagne.

Saint Laurent fashion show: During the Saint Laurent fashion show, Bianca had the opportunity to attend the event from the guest entrance, where she caught a glimpse of the renowned designer Jean-Paul Gaultier, as well as Anna Dello Russo, an Italian fashion journalist who has contributed to Vogue Italia and Vogue Japan.

Chanel bag workshop: Bianca also visited the studio of an artist renowned for crafting accessories worn by Lady Gaga. During this experience, she had the opportunity to create a unique handbag using fabrics sourced directly from Chanel.

Azzedine Alaïa: Invited by representatives of the Fondation Alaïa, Bianca had the privilege of visiting the workshops of the late designer Azzedine Alaia, an extension of the Palais Galliera exhibition honoring his legacy. This private space with a touch of coziness and peace, enabled Bianca to discover the designer's artistic legacy in depth.

Press release from Archivio magazine: At the launch of the new edition of Archivio magazine, focusing on the world of fashion, leading figures from the field of fashion archives, representing institutions such as Balenciaga, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, the Palais Galliera and the Fondation Azzedine Alaïa, gathered for an intimate round table discussion. Bianca was privileged to attend this exclusive moment, offering a particularly enriching experience for her.

Tranoi Trade show: For the second time, Bianca takes part in the Tranoi trade show, an official partner of Paris Fashion Week. This is an event where hundreds of designers from all over the world gather under one roof to present their creations. During her first participation, she attended the show by our alumni and teacher MRKNTN (see full article).

At the event, Bianca wore a LaColline corset made by our Fashion Design graduate Camille Lamontagne.

During her visit to Galeries Lafayette, Bianca wore a custom-designed piece by our Fashion Design alumni Nareg Sarkis of Nareg World. Here's a glimpse of the process:

Musée Yves Saint Laurent: Bianca discovered the iconic Musée Yves Saint Laurent, a must-see stop during the Voyage Mode organized by LaSalle College for our fashion students.

Reemami: Reemami is a luxury ready-to-wear brand based in the United Arab Emirates. Bianca had the chance to meet the designer and discuss with her about the new collection.

Manuel Tiscareno: Bianca got a front-row seat at the fashion show of Mexican designer Manuel Tiscareno and chat with him afterwards about his future projects.

Hian Tjen: Hian Tjen is an Indonesian designer showing in Paris for the very first time. Bianca was able to meet him and discuss his ambitions and dreams.

For these shows, Bianca wore a dress by Lucie Ohana and a bolero designed by Léonie Houde-Vachon, two of our fashion design graduates.

Mode et sport, d’un podium à l’autre : She also visited the brand-new Musée des Arts Décoratifs exhibition "Mode et Sport, d’un podium à l’autre” organized on the occasion of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
