Our teachers, Pascale Warmoes and Johnathan Mina win silver at the CiCan awards! 

We are proud to announce that two of our teachers, Jonathan Mina and Pascale Warmoes, both received awards from the Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) at the World Congress 2023.   The CiCan awards are bestowed on a yearly basis to recognize outstanding achievements demonstrated by Canadian institutions and individuals over many years.

We are proud to announce that two of our teachers received awards from the Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) at the World Congress 2023. Congratulations to Pascale Warmoes and Johnathan Mina on their outstanding achievements and for being awarded the Silver position for the Awards of Excellence for Faculty at Lasalle College! This prestigious award is a well-deserved recognition of their dedication and accomplishments throughout their careers at the institution.

Pascale Warmoes has made significant contributions to College Lasalle, including creating and operating the Adapted Services Center, implementing smartpens and VR experiences in her classrooms through SALTISE research mini-grants, and winning college Lasalle’s first Pedagogical Research and Experimentation Program (PREP) research grant to conduct pedagogical research on the use of entertainment-based videogames in courses. Her presentations at provincial, national, and international conferences have also showcased her expertise and commitment to excellence in teaching and collaboration with her peers.

Similarly, Johnathan Mina's accomplishments at our institution, such as coordinating the English Language Center, being involved in the creation of the Arts and Letter program, implementing smartpens and VR experiences in his courses as part of theSALTISE research mini-grants, and conducting research on the use of videogames as part of Quebec’s  Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s Pedagogical Research and Experimentation Program (PREP), are a testament to his passion for, and commitment to, excellence in teaching. His presentations at various local and international conferences have contributed to creating a growing interest for collaborative research and experimentation at our institution.

 

The recognition plaques that Pascale, Johnathan, and College Lasalle received at the Montreal's World Congress 2023 on April 24, 2023, are a testament to their exceptional achievements. Congratulations again on this well-deserved honour, and may you continue to inspire and make a positive impact in the field of education!
