New DEC now taught at the Laval campus
Study in Computer Science Techniques:
Programming and Video Game Programming
Are You Interested In Programming Websites Or Video Games?
This fall, the programming and video games programming DEC programs will be added to those offered at LaSalle College’s Laval campus! The Programming DEC will be taught in English, making it the only English DEC on the North Shore of Montreal!
Both programs are also eligible for the Perspective Québec bursary program, which allows students to receive $1,500 for each successful session (for a maximum total of $9,000 for 3 years). Students are eligible whether they are at the beginning, middle or end of their studies.
Come take advantage of the experience of industry experts. These two DECs are designed to shape you into a true professional in programming and computer science. You can expect to finish your studies with a good understanding of programming tools that you will need to integrate a multidisciplinary and innovative team!
At the end of your training, during the last session, you will be asked to do an internship in a company to put your acquired knowledge to good use.
The job prospects in these fields, both in the Laval and Montreal regions, are excellent!
Join the ranks of our graduates, including Sarah Chalalb, who rose from a programmer analyst at Desjardins to a development consultant at Morgan Stanley. If you prefer more creative environments, you could follow in the footsteps of Philippe Gouveia, now a general developer at Square Enix.
Share Your Love Of Video Games
Montreal is a global hub for the video game industry, allowing us to benefit from a vast network of experts and studios when it comes to designing our video game programming courses.
Design a Triple-A game, join a multidisciplinary team from an independent studio, produce a mobile app or even develop your own video game. This kind of hands-on learning attracts creative and entrepreneurial minds.
A Campus Near You
Do you live north of Montreal and but hate traffic? LaSalle College’s Laval campus is about 20 minutes from Boisbriand, Terrebonne and Deux-Montagnes. Avoid overcrowded subways and the traffic jams!
Taking classes from your bed is the good life, but when the time comes to go to campus for a class or an activity, you’ll be able to enjoy ample free parking and the proximity of the campus to the Montmorency metro station.
E-learning fans rejoice! Although the practical programming courses are given in person, the theoretical courses of the DEC are offered online - which allows greater flexibility in your schedule and a better balance between personal life and studies!
