About the Program
LaSalle College Montréal's Fashion Design DCS with a Footwear & Accessory Design specialization is designed for passionate individuals who aspire to master the art of creating distinctive and trendsetting footwear and accessories.
Get hands-on, expert-led training from the most important fashion school in Canada. From sketching initial concepts to creating physical prototypes, gain invaluable experience throughout the design and production process.
Note: You need to register for the DEC in Fashion Design. The specialization of your choice will take place in the 3rd year of the program.

Diploma & Accreditation
This Diploma of College Studies (DCS) is approved by the ministère de l'Enseignement supérieur of Québec and is internationally recognized.
Holders of a Diploma of College Studies (DCS) can pursue university studies or enter the workforce directly.
Required Materials
A laptop computer is mandatory for study in this program.
Mentors may request other standard or student-licensed software mandatory for their courses to be installed.
The following features are required for Macs and PCs:
- iOS or Windows 10 operating system in the teaching language (English or French),
- Processor: Intel I5 minimum compatible with virtualization,
- Memory: 4 GB (8 GB recommended, particularly for Illustrator),
- Hard drive: 500 GB minimum,
- Screen: 14 inches minimum,
- Connectivity: Wi-Fi and LAN,
- Ports: minimum of one USB 3.0 port,
- Mouse (may be wireless).
Required software: Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft 365 (or equivalent for Mac) software with student or regular licence (in the language of instruction).

- Clothing technology laboratory equipped with:
- Sublimation printing equipment,
- Specialized machines for shoes and leather accessories (skiver, walking foot, swivel arm, post bed).
- Seam sealer (for waterproof seams),
- Flatlock (for seams on stretch fabrics),
- Patronage, drawing, and cutting room (open to students outside class hours),

Work Experience
Get sought-after practical experience with our Career Service and our Work-Study Program (WSP), which incorporates two paid internships into your program.
Our Fashion Design - Footwear and Accessory program also includes a 120-hour internship or a business start-up project as part of the curriculum.
Admissions Criteria
Exceptions to these admission criteria may be applied.
Every application is reviewed by the College.
To be eligible for acceptance into this program, applicants are generally required to meet one of the following criteria:
Secondary School Diploma (DES).
Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) with completion of:
• Language of Instruction from Secondary V,
• Second Language from Secondary V,
• Mathematics from Secondary IV.
Equivalent education or an instruction deemed sufficient.
